CHEN Nuan

Researcher

Dr Chen Nuan is a research fellow in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. She received her PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the N.1 Institute for Health, National University of Singapore, in 2020. Her current research focuses on flexible and stretchable electronics for biomedical applications.

Neelkamal SEMWAL received his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, India in 2019.  

He worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Ittiam Systems Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, India from 2019 – 2022.  He is currently working as a Research Engineer in the Green IC group.  His research interest is on low power systems and circuits.

Karim Ali Abdeltawwab AHMED

Karim Ali Ahmed

Karim received B.S. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Fayoum University, Fayoum, Egypt, in 2010, M.S. degree in electronics engineering from American University in Cairo (AUC), Cairo, Egypt, in 2013 and PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from National University in Singapore (NUS), in 2019.  He was a research assistant at Nile University from 2010 to 2011 and American University in Cairo (AUC) from 2011 to 2012.  He was a graduate intern at PC client group (PCCG), Intel Cooperation, Oregon USA from 2012 to 2013.  He worked as a teaching assistant at Middle East Technical University North Cyprus Campus (METU – NCC) in 2014. He is currently working as a research fellow at electrical and computer engineering department, NUS. 

His research interest includes non-volatile memories and logic, computing in memory, low power ADCs, computer-aided design (CAD) for 3D ICs, and field programmable analog arrays IC design.

TANG Shiwen

Dr. TANG Shiwen is a research fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore. She received her PhD degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong SAR, China, in 2023. She received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, in 2016 and 2019, respectively, and the MSc degree from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K., in 2018.

Her research interests include the reconfigurable intelligent surface and flexible antenna designs.

MURUGAN Balaji

Dr. Murugan Balaji is a research fellow at the SHINE Center.  He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Physics at Bharathiar University (2017). After his doctoral degree, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, India (2017-2021).  After this, he worked as a research professor in the field of thin film transistor applications at Gachon and Dongguk Universities, South Korea (2021-2023).

His current research work is on the CNT and III-V materials-based flexible TFTs for neuromorphic applications.

Lucas LUM

Mr. Lucas Lum is a research fellow in SHINE centre. He pursued his doctoral degree from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 2019 to 2023. His research focused on on-board electromagnetic shielding using vertically aligned carbon nanotube arrays.

His current research in SHINE centre focuses on magnetic field imaging-based defect modelling of 3D ICs.

Jagan Singh MEENA

Dr. Jagan Singh Meena is a Research Fellow (RF) in SHINE Centre, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore. He earned PhD degree in area of flexible electrical devices at the National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) Taiwan in 2012. He received M. Tech. degree in area of Solis State Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur India in 2007. Currently in SHINE, he is working in areas of wearable electronics and developing flexible strain sensors, for space-and-satellite and body-motion-monitoring applications.

XIONG Dingyi

Mr. Xiong Dingyi received the bachelor’s degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Northwestern Polytechnical University (in China) in 2022. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Engineering department from the National University of Singapore. He is currently working on side-channel attack in EM area, which is about EM attack prevention through the EM-aware stdcell placement.

Ma Yuyu received her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2021, and M.Sc. degree from NUS in 2022. She is currently a Research Engineer in the Green IC group. Her research interests are analog circuits and architectures based on transistors working in super-cutoff region.

 

Anil Kumar GUNDU

Dr. Anil Kumar Gundu received B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, India, and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 2012 and 2015, respectively, and PhD degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2022. He was a trainee at ST Microelectronics, Greater Noida, India from 2014 – 2015. He is currently working as a Research Fellow at Electrical and Computer Engineering, NUS. His research interests include SRAM design in FDSOI technology, low-power and high-performance integrated circuit design, and novel semiconductor devices.

BARK Hyunwoo

Dr. Bark Hyunwoo is a research fellow in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received his PhD in advanced materials engineering from the Kookmin University, Seoul (Republic of Korea) in 2018. His research focuses on organic/inorganic composites for heat management, thermal energy conversion, and wearable electronics.

CAI Zheren

Dr Cai Zheren is a research fellow at the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received his BSc and PhD in chemistry from Nanjing University and the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (respectively). His current research focuses on designing wearable electronics for electrophysiology.

Evgeny ZAMBURG

Dr. Evgeny Zamburg is senior research fellow in SHINE. He received his PhD in 2015 from the Institute of Nanotechnology, Electronics, and Instrumentation, Southern Federal University, Russia. He got several research fellowships to conduct his research in Technical University of Munich (2012), IBM Research-Zurich (2013), National University of Singapore (2014), National Chiao Tung University (2016), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (2016-2017). 

In 2017 he moved to National University of Singapore as a Research Fellow. He has won numerous awards for outstanding young investigators from: Swiss Government, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Fulbright, IBM, Nokia Bell Labs, Huawei, Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian President, the Russian Government, Russian Ministry of Education and Science, and others. He is currently working on neuromorphic, event-driven, smart, low power hardware, which enables next generation of internet of things devices, wearable/mobile devices, edge-computing devices, medical wearable sensors and systems.

SIAH Chun Fei

Dr. Siah Chun Fei is a research fellow in SHINE center. He received his doctoral degree from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2022. After his postgraduate programme, he joined SHINE as a research fellow to support the heterogenous integration research activities.

More specifically, his current research focuses on thermal management of 3D IC on interposer using nanomaterials and nanostructures.a

XIA Huarong

Dr. Xia Huarong is a research fellow in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He graduated from Peking University, China, with a PhD in physical electronics in 2016. During this time, he uncovered the reversible lithiation of organohalide halide perovskite materials and pioneered the research of perovskite materials for energy storage. His current research interests include energy storage electrochemistry, flexible electronic systems, and artificial intelligence. He has published more than 30 papers, including 8 Advanced Materials papers and 1 ACS Nano paper with more than 1300 citations.

XU Baochang

Dr. Xu Baochang is a research fellow at SHINE center. He obtained his PhD from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2014. After 5 years’ experience in the industry, he joined ECE, NUS in 2019 as a research fellow supporting the process development at E6nanofab. 

Currently, his research is focusing on high power laser diode thermal management and the integration of SiC towards Si based interposer and devices.
